Shoreline: Sprint 15 (July 15-28, 2020)

What was the goal of Sprint 15?

For Sprint 15, the following goals were set:

  • Continue meetings with stakeholders to update them on the progress of Shoreline and to hear their thoughts about new features;
  • Review input from stakeholders at both campuses;
  • Diagram workflows at CU Boulder and Cornell following meetings with them;
  • Provide a high-level description of Shoreline;
  • Determine who at UCSB and UCSD will create graphics for the Geodata interface;
  • Create short-term workflows for ingesting data and metadata into UCSB and UCSD instances of Geodata; and
  • Do preliminary work in preparation for adding rights statements to object record page metadata.

What is the milestone that this sprint is supporting?

To determine how potential feature development should be prioritized during the next work cycle based on input from stakeholders; to gather information about potential ingest methods as we refine our ingest process; to provide a high-level description of Shoreline; and to prepare for a first round of data ingest into each campus’ instance of Geodata.

Accomplishments of Sprint 15:

During the sprint we accomplished the following:

  • Met with stakeholders to update them on the progress of Shoreline and to hear their thoughts about new features;
  • Reviewed input from stakeholders at both campuses;
  • Diagramed workflows at CU Boulder following meetings with them;
  • Wrote a high-level description of Shoreline; and
  • Determined who at UCSB and UCSD will create graphics for the Geodata interface;
  • Began developing short-term workflows for ingesting data and metadata into UCSB and UCSD instances of Geodata.

Did we do everything we set out to accomplish?

Yes, except for the following:

  • We have not yet diagrammed the workflows as Cornell; and
  • We have not yet begun preliminary work in preparation for adding rights statements to object record page metadata.
