Shoreline: Sprint 23 (Feb. 16-Mar. 1, 2022)

(This session was not recorded)

What was the goal of Sprint 23?

For Sprint 23, the following goals were set:

  • Research the mechanism for supporting downloads of original datasets
  • Research the mechanism for supporting the ingest of GeoTIFFs
  • Provide support for external/standalone Solr instances
  • Get UCLA up to speed on Surfliner devops work
  • Update Geoserver to 2.19.x
  • Investigate the Blacklight breaking changes and their effects on Shoreline
  • Ingest metadata qc scripts into GitLab repo

What is the milestone that this work cycle is supporting?

This work cycle focuses on enabling the download of original datasets and ingesting GeoTIFFs.  It also focuses on maintenance and updates of the Shoreline infrastructure.

Accomplishments of Sprint 23:

During the sprint we accomplished the following:

  • Researched mechanisms for supporting downloads of original datasets
  • Began getting UCLA up to speed on Surfliner devops work
  • Provide support for external/standalone Solr instances
  • Investigated updating Geoserver to 2.19.x
  • Ingested metadata qc scripts into GitLab repo, creating some issues which will be examined next sprint

Did we do everything we set out to accomplish?

We started getting UCLA up to speed on Surfliner devops work, researched the mechanism for supporting downloads of original datasets, and provided support for external/standalone Solr instances. There is still work to be done on supporting the ingestion of GeoTIFFS, investigating what is necessary to update Geoserver to 2.19.X, and investigating the Blacklight breaking changes and their effects on Shoreline.
